Does it cost anything to post a job?

No. Posting a job is completely free. You only pay when you hire, and that is the agreed quote plus a 2.5% processing fee.

How much does Pale Green Earth take?

Customers pay a 2.5% processing fee on top of the quote. Tradespeople pay a 10% platform fee out of the quote. There are no lead fees and no charge to send a quote.

What happens if I cancel a job I have booked?

You can cancel at any time. Your payment is refunded except $25, which becomes credit toward the tradie on your next job and is deducted straight off their quote. If the job is not reassigned within 6 months, the credit expires.

When do I pay, and when does the tradie get paid?

You pay through Pale Green Earth when you accept an offer. The funds are held securely and released to your tradie once the job is marked complete.

How do I know a tradie is trustworthy?

Every tradie has a public profile with ratings and reviews. Look for the PGE-Verified (3+ jobs) and PGE-Trusted (10+ jobs) badges, earned only through work completed on the platform.

Will my phone number or full name be shared?

No. Your contact details stay private. You message through the platform and choose if and when to share anything further.

What happens if there is a problem with the job?

You can raise a dispute. Our team reviews both sides and makes a fair decision, so issues get resolved properly.

How do I get paid as a tradesperson?

Once you complete a job and it is marked complete, your payment is released to you. That is the quote minus the 10% platform fee.

Can I avoid the 10% platform fee?

Yes. PGE Pro, a flat membership for tradespeople that removes the platform fee entirely, is coming soon. Whatever you quote is what you receive.

Can I sell or hire out equipment?

Yes. The Equipment Marketplace lets you list gear for sale or hire, free. You arrange deals directly, with no platform fees.

How do offers work on the Equipment Marketplace?

Buyers send offers on your listing, and you can accept, decline, or counter as many times as you like. Once an offer is accepted, direct messages unlock so you can arrange the handover together.

When do I pay for equipment?

Payment is arranged directly between buyer and seller. We recommend paying only once you have seen the item in person, unless it is being delivered to you.

Is there work for apprentices?

Yes. The Career Hub lists trade careers, apprenticeships, and full-time roles. Employers post roles and connect with job seekers directly.

How do career applications work?

When you apply, your application goes straight to the employer by email, and they contact you directly from there. Applying is always free.

Do I need to be verified to post a career listing?

Yes. Employers complete a quick verification in their settings before posting to the Career Hub. It keeps listings genuine and job seekers safe.

How do I become a tradesperson on Pale Green Earth?

Switch to a tradesperson account in your settings, upload your credentials to get verified, and start quoting on jobs.
